Afraid to Admit to Drug Addiction
When it comes to admitting that you are addicted to drugs it is not uncommon to be afraid. It is hard to tell other people that you are addicted; you don't know how they will react. So you often keep silent.
It is not unusual for most addicts to keep it a secret, because they don't want others to think negatively about them. You want to be considered a nice person, be appreciated, and you don't want to be judged negatively.
However, the question is whether everybody will really think negatively about you when you tell them about your addiction. Some people are concerned and want to help; others feel honored to be taken into your confidence. Also, your doctor can offer some support.
If talking to a friend or family member does not seem like an option for you call a professional drug rehab facility for assistance to share your problem and to talk about it more easily. You can register yourself at a health care center without other people knowing about it. With the help of a quality drug rehab program you may later be able to admit your addiction.
